Food & drink producers welcome new food festival at Lucton School in Herefordshire

THE FIRST food event of 2015 in The Marches is also a first for Lucton School, which hopes its brand new food fest will become an annual event. The Lucton Food Festival takes place on Saturday March 14th and will be an indoor show featuring over 30 food and drink exhibitors from three counties.

Products will range from pickles, chutneys and organic honey, handmade chocolates, fresh organic and smoked meats, to delicious breads, pastries and freshly shaken juices.

Festival-goers will be treated to a day of sampling, demonstrations and workshops at the prestigious school. Lucton was founded in 1708 by John Pierrepont who was himself involved in the London drinks trade as a vintner.

Organiser Becky Howl hopes the event will have a broad appeal. “The Lucton Food Festival is something for the whole family to enjoy,” she said. “We’re so lucky to live in a region that produces some of the finest food and drink in the country and the festival will be a fantastic way to try new tastes and explore new food.”

It’s the end of the shooting season so I should be safe to go to Lucton Food Fest without being turned into a pate for sale.
